The frig is fine. but The MANUAL is for multiple frig.s It would be EXTREMELY helpful to have a manual that gave is specific information on our unit, so that we could use it in the most cost effective way.

Basically works well but since a separate freezer control is not available balancing the freezer and refrigerator temps is difficult. The freezer door storage shelves are poorly designed - can hold juice cans and similar large products but not packages of frozen vegetables, etc.

We bought this unit to replace our previous Whirlpool refrigerator (18 years old). This one has about the same capacity we are just working out where we need to put each shelf. One problem we noticed is the refrigerator door. On the previous unit you could just give it a push and it would automatically close this unit doesn't do that unless you really shove it. Also the gasketing towards the top the door appears bowed and you need to lean on the door to make sure it is closed.

The doors fall open since it's not really balanced. It's too cold at the back and warmer at the front--which is the usual. The worst feature is the deli drawer. It breaks EASILY. I had to order a new one and it broke again almost immediately.

awful light weight plastic drawers, freezer retainer rails are good only for storing cans, too big of gaps at bottom can't store any bags of items.

This item came with purchase of a new house. I had no choice in its style or type. It does cool and freeze, its stainless steel. It is fairly quiet in operation, but the freezer is on the top. That means for daily use you are constantly stooping over to reach items used. While the freezer which is long term storage is above and only opened for a single item or for ice. And like most designs today it is so deep that items get pushed to the back and 'lost' till they can spoil. While the machine me work the design is flawed in my opinion.

Refrigerator we purchased works great . Just one question . Why is the whirlpool logo placed in the middle of the freezer door when all other ones of the same model including the picture of our new one sent with this review ,is in the upper right corner of the freezer door !

I have had this refrigerator for about 1 month and it works great. However 2 complaints are:
1 - Refrigerator is very low so I have to bend down to reach inside to get things.
2 - Refrigerator temperature is difficult to read and the manual does not explain which way is a higher or lower temperature.

It has been a week now that I had the top freezer refrigerator. The overall interior design of the shelves & space on the doors are very spacious for our use. The storage containers are wider than our previous Whirlpool (lasted 30 yrs) which means I am able to store all of our bottles of sauces, dressing, & jams. With the adjustable placement of the storage units, the door is able to hold tall bottles as well as wider jars like mayonaise. I am very pleased with the easy access to all these items (30+items).
That being said wider storage on the door means less depth for the refrigerator shelves which are still sufficient for our use. There is plenty of space for leftover Rubbermaid stackable acrylic containers on the refrigerator shelves (two container deep).
The two shelves in the freezer are well lit. I have the deli meat drawer along with 2 other deep door containers from the previous ref. in the freezer to keep my meat items separated and stacked without sliding and falling. There is still plenty of space next to these containers for other items. The two shelves on the freezer door definitely needs to be designed better. (Other reviews also mentioned this) The depth of the space from the door to the bar is about 5". The depth of the lip/shelf is only 2". So anything that isn't at least 4" wide will slip through the open space. To remedy that by creating a container like those for flatware/pencils to store my items.
As mentioned in many other reviews, the vegetable bins and deli drawer are much thinner than the previous Whirlpool ref. The glass shelves are also thinner. This is not a complaint so far because nothing has cracked; it's just not as sturdy as before. Also, the glass shelf covering the vegetable bins doesn't reach the edge of the bin so there is a constant opening about 1/2 inch. (can't change humidity)
There is one major complaint. There is only one temperature control for both the freezer & the refrigerator. There is an airflow control in the freezer. I left the temp. control setting as "recommended" & the air flow in the middle when I first got the refrig. With those 2 settings, it froze pretty much everything in the refrigerator and the bins. So, I adjusted the temp control to almost 2 ** and changed the airflow control to take less air from the freezer. The vegetables and leftover containers still froze, but the vegetable bins seemed okay. The persimmon pulp in the freezer was somewhat pliable, not solid. I didn't have any ice cream in the freezer to test. But will do so at a later date. So today, I adjusted the temp. control to 2** and left the airflow. I will check it at the end of the day.
The overall design is satisfactory with small flaws that can be fixed. The functionality of the appliance temperature controls definitely needs some adjustment from the manufacturers. I will continue to review after I find the better setting for both the freezer and refrigerator which will freeze ice cream & not freeze items in the refrigerator.

I bought this in January. The plastic part of the handle broke and was replaced in July under warranty. The handle broke again and I have to pay for the handle. The top plastic part of the handle is cheap plastic and does not hold up.

I bought many whirlpool products in the past few years since covid and I am very happy with all but this one. I bought this fridge for my daughter and son in law as a give for a new home and i am completely frustrated with it.. The fridge runs fine but the handles keep breaking...I had the warranty and they sent a new bottom one and then the top one broke and then the bottom one again. This refrigerator is only 3years and it looks awful because now she tries gluing them because they just do not hole. I am so disappointed as I am a fan of the whirlpool products and have always sworn by them. Problems began 1 year after purchase when the freezer LED stopped working. A year later the freezer/refrigerator temps couldn't be balanced and a service call determined the Secure System (compressor, evaporator, condenser) was failing. Whirlpool refused any repair consideration with the unit being out of warranty. Poor quality control, and I will not replace with a Whirlpool product.

I bought this three weeks ago and it has been running great. It definitely keeps the contents very cold at the recommended setting. The stainless-steel door is easy to clean fingerprints off of; just a little mild detergent on a damp microfiber towel rubbed in the direction of the grain gets rid of them. A great, simple, no-nonsense refrigerator.

We only had room in our kitchen for three s style and size of refrigerator. However we were pleasantly surprised of the roominess compared to our previous one. Matches well with our other stainless steel appliances. The only negative we have is we needed the handle to be on the right side, which we got, but since the standard refrigerator has the handle on the left there was a hole in refrigerator door for the left side handle that they put a plug in. It is very unattractive and does not sit flush. Shouldn™™t drill holes until you know what side handle is on.

I bought this refrigerator in December 2023 and the refrigerator door handle broke in July. There are two adults in the household so the handle was not abused. Using plastic to attach the handle to the door is a poor design. Although the handle has been replaced under warranty with an OEM part by a certified Whirlpool repair company, the stainless steel handle on the refrigerator door does not match that on the freezer door. It is noticeably darker. I was told by Whirlpool that this is due to the variation in manufacturing plants. This is not acceptable. I purchased a Whirlpool appliance due to my past positive experience with the company.

The refrigerator keeps food very cold, even on the medium setting. Same with the freezer - on the medium setting items are frozen solid. Mostly plastic shelves, drawers, etc. I've gotten used to them. This unit replaced a 30 year old GE fridge. The older one was quieter. On a scale of 1 - 10 the GE had almost zero noise. I would rate the new unit at 1.5 out of 10. Can I hear it doing whatever it does, yes, somewhat. Is it overbearing...not at all. I would definitely buy this refrigerator again.

We are completely satisfied with the performance of our new refrigerator.
We must admit though, the only drawback is ,when shutting the refrigerator door, you must make a conscious effort to be sure the door is closed. All other refrigerator's I've owned all that was required to close the door was a gentle nudge and the door would shut and seal itself. With this if you just nudge the door as we have in the past it won't close.
Is it possible that it isn't balanced properly? Is it something that should have be checked on delivery?

(1) because the door had to be reversed, the now exposed light switch on the side is subject to breaking (again, like the last one). Just because they tell you the door can be reversed doesn't mean the interior light switch can be switched to the other side as well. Lesson learned - the hard way.
(2) the replacement (under warranty) refrigerator does not close automatically like the the previous one.
