2 year old machine with failed control panel

Another warning to avoid this washing machine because the control panels are unreliable. I purchased this machine in June 2017, and now it will not power on. I had a Maytag certified technician inspect the machine today, and the control panel has failed and the appliance manager is questionable. Since the machine is out of the 1 year warranty period, I am stuck with a 2 year old washing machine that requires repairs costing $450-$700. I am very disappointed in the quality of this Maytag product.

I'm sorry, I really loved my old washer I had for 15 years. But it quit spinning out the water so I thought I'd try a Maytag. It doesn't spin out rugs either unless you have more than one. The dryer is hard to get to the controls when it's stacked.

Noisy & Mold Issues, Not impressed.

We've had this set for about 3 yrs now. Right away I noticed how noisy it was but we kept the washer (and dryer) because after our long remodel I just wanted to move into our house. Besides it would mean returning both since they're a matched set. Really bad for how much these machines cost too. The second thing, and most annoying, is how badly the door's rubber seal molded. I already knew (because my mother-in-law has a frontloader) I'd have to hand-dry or leave the door open until the seal dried after I was done using the machine. But that never helped one bit! Besides it looking silly with the door wide open (my machines are in the mudroom by the backdoor). Gradually over time the mold has grown more and more. Within the first year, I was wondering if I should buy a replacement seal for eventual replacement. I wish I'd gone w a toploader option but I didn't want any that Home Depot had available. We bought a suite of appliances for the house not just a W&D. Lastly, I don't like not being able to choose my own load size. Sometimes I want more water in the tub and there is no way to pick SM/MED/LG/XLG load.

Purchased the set new for $1400. 1.5 years later the washer needed extensive repair due to factory defective part. Maytag did not warranty. Now, 6 months later it needs repair again. Washer doesn't clean clothes well. I'm disappointed in this machine and will probably never purchase a Maytag again.

We have had this for a year; replaced a maytag centennial that kept leaving small holes in my clothes. This washer is great - no holes, clothes come out clean and stains are out. I also love the delay feature and we use the soap and softener dispenser. My spouse does mens 6 pants and 6 shirts at a time so holds big loads. My only complaint is that I would love to see these with a soak feature.

Purchased after my last Maytag went out after many long years of use. This is a typical Maytag quality machine. It runs powerful, yet quiet. Max extract works great to get squeeze out much water. This is a short machine. If you are tall and/or have back problems, put this on a pedestal. This does not have reversible doors. Hinges are on the left, opens from the right so if your dryer is to the left of the washer, it's a little cumbersome. I also miss the presoak feature that allowed clothes to soak a few extra minutes before the wash kicked on. Otherwise, this is a solid unit that's done very well.

For a mid price range washer, I think this model is hard to beat. In three months of use, we haven't found a single clothes washing feature or setting we'd want to add, much less at a price premium, and have found that one customized setting--regular wash, on cool water(which we Iike--not cold/not warm) with an extra rinse handles 90% of our laundry loads perfectly. I also like the spin only cycle (previous unit had combo rinse and spin). My only concern is the location of the filter UNDER the unit and that it's not front panel accessible for regular check and maintenance...we'll wait and withhold judgement but it IS a point of concern.

My laundry smells so good and looks so clean with this machine, and time in the dryer is about 10 minutes shorter than with my old top loader. And it's so much quieter. My only complaint is the ease with which the power can accidentally be turned on. I solved the problem by inserting a piece of cardboard behind the button.

It also has limited options. A small load and comforter option is missing. The quick wash and delicate setting does not spin clothes dry, clothes are soaked at end, requiring you to do an additional rinse and spin after. Also, I can also actually hear water trapped inside drum and there is no way to remove it. Washer is on loud side. I am disappointed and would not recommend.
